Tigriopus Copepods are loaded with crude fat and protein. Fish are drawn to the pods swimming through the water. Tigriopus Copepods can also greatly increase the color and appearance of the fish and coral in your aquarium. Loaded with beta-Carotene, brighter pigmentation will result in most many animals that eat Tiger Pods.
Tigriopus Pods are a larger species of warm water copepod that benefit numerous animals in the reef environment. Due to their larger body size, Tigriopus Copepods will feed a different variety of animals than smaller Tisbe Pods. Mandarin gobies, seahorses, pipefish, many larger reef fish & larger micron feeding soft & hard corals will all predate on Tigriopus Pods. Tigriopus californicus copepods are highly nutritious, having high levels of crude fat & protein, making them an ideal renewable foodsource in your aquarium. Tigriopus Pods have a noticeably bright orange appearance. This is due to a large amount of beta-Carotene and other minerals in their exoskeleton, many have reported increased coloration of other livestock due to these compounds when fed over time. In addition to being a non-replaceable food source, Tisbe Pods provide an excellent service to your aquarium. As a colony flourishes in an aquarium, they are effective detritavores, eating excess detritus, fish food, some animal waste, etc., thus helping to the clean the aquarium.
Don’t be fooled by many cool & cold water copepods that are often offered. Cold water copepods are generally offered in the hobby for extended bottle life under refrigeration. Unlike coldwater copepods, Tigriopus Pods will survive & flourish in typical reef environments. This will eliminate the need for several repeat purchases as a breeding colony will over time colonize your aquarium.
Storage: For Maximum Longevity, Refrigerate between 38-50°F
Directions: For best results, allow bottle to reach room temperature before introducing to aquarium.
Deliver Pods into aquarium or refugium by dispensing directly to rocks or algae through dispensing cap.
For Best Yield, when dispensing directly into aquarium, add half of bottle contents during daylight & half during nightime as to reduce predation by fish.
